Pearl Rotary Bylaws governing makeup of the Club’s Board, duties of Officers, fees and dues, and method of electing new members are the key areas to be revised under a new version of ther bylaws approved May 10 by the Club’s Board of Directors. The revised bylaws, as published on Clubrunner since February 23 and amended by the Board on May 10, are now subject to approval by a vote of the full Club membership.
Among the key revisions are:
- Governing Board will consist of President, President-elect, Secretary, treasurer, Immediate Past President, Chair of the Pearl Fund and Chairs of the four avenues of service (community service, club service, international service and vocational service). The Board may include other committee chairs at the request of the Board. The President may convene an Executive Committee comprised of the four elected Officers and immediate past president for purpose of legal, personnel matters or emergencies.
- Procedures for nominations and election of Officers, including a vote on nominated officers for the Club’s upcoming year (July-June) to be taken in January.
- Duties of Officers, including President elect to serve as member of the Membership Committee, and Immediate Past President to focus on Club fundraising efforts.
- Fees and dues, including a provision that each club members will be required to contribute $100 to the Pearl Fund annually. This was an amendment to the Bylaw Revisions posted on Clubrunner that was made by the Board on May 10. Previously approved bylaw changes governing fees and dues for new members age 35 or under and for members engaged in a startup business are also included.
- Club Committee rules, including that each committee should have a specific mandate, clearly defined goals and action plans established by the beginning of the Club year for implementation during that year.
Bylaws covering the Pearl Fund, reorganized this past year to guide the Club’s charitable activities, are also posted.
Club President Myron Fehr urges all members of the Club to review the revised Bylaws as now posted on Clubrunner before the Club Assembly vote, expected later this month.
