Balance is a strong characteristic of Pearl Rotary’s membership profile, according to a review of the Club’s demographics and classification breakdown conducted by Club Secretary Paul Cathcart as part of PPRC’s goalsetting process.
Among 45 members who identified their Rotary classification, 13 came up in the general business (e.g., contracting, insurance) category, six in real estate and six in financial arenas, and another six in professional occupations such as accounting, law and architecture.
Other category slots were: other (e.g., nonprofit, education), eight; medical, four; and retail, two.
Cathcart’s review covered all 59 members currently on the roster, but he noted six honorary members and four members he described as not active or in process of resigning, and focused on 49 active members.
Considering age of members, Cathcart’s study shows 18 of 49 members over the age of 60, nine between age 51-60, and 11 between 41 and 50. Among younger members, five were identified between the ages of 31-40, and six at age 30 or under.
Balance is not yet the hallmark of membership gender, however, with 36 of current 49 active members being male and 13 female.
